The school performed their 2nd School production ‘Do Your Thing!’ on Saturday 7th July 2007 at the Seckford Theatre in Woodbridge. This truly wonderful venue gave the performance an added kick and again the majority of the pupils participated in the Show. A Jazzy section kicked off the first half with both Seniors and Juniors coming together to perform the title number ‘Do Your Thing!’ which the pupils had earlier in the year taken to London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre. A Modern journey through the Jungle and then the Rainforest continued the 1st half, meeting up with the Tots who were ‘Ugly Bugs’ and the Lion King along the way. The beautiful Rainforest Ballet closed the 1st half where the flowers and flower fairies all came together in a mixture of colour and chiffon.
The Second half took on a more Street Dance feel with the kids in Hoodies and caps to perform to Missy Elliot and Justin Timberlake, to name but a few. We then changed the mood completely to the time of the kid film gangster, Bugsy Malone. The children tapped their way through that section and then we ended with the newest Film musical on the block to date - Hairspray. The fluorescent costumes and lively music from the film really closed the show with a bang.
